Government Partners
Missions of the Federal Republic of Germany in Australia
The German Missions in Australia represent the official diplomatic, economic, and cultural interests of the Federal Republic of Germany. Operating through the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Canberra and the Consulate General in Sydney—alongside a nationwide network of strategic Honorary Consuls—these missions work to deepen the long-standing bilateral friendship between the two nations. They provide vital passport, visa, and legal services to citizens, while actively fostering collaboration in critical sectors such as renewable energy, climate policy, education, and international trade.
German Honorary Consul Darwin
The appointment as an honorary consul is based on a formal agreement between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Australian Government, as outlined in the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (VCCR).
